We are a cafe and creative catering company with a unique approach to menu-making, tablescaping, and food styling for experiences ranging from small intimate dinners for 20 to large corporate galas and weddings of 200, with a focus on monthly community gatherings called Supper Club.

Many people ask us where the name TXA TXA comes from. But, what does it mean? Txa txa comes from the Basque word txoko. Literally it means cozy corner. A txoko is a society or club that comes together to cook, to celebrate, to be a convivial collective. But more than what it means, it represents: a sense of time. Or past time. A way of dining representative of a way of life. When we started TXA TXA, that’s what we wanted our dinners to feel like: dancing somewhere between Barcelona at noon and Bangkok at midnight. Transported across boundaries, culture, and era. And most importantly, across the table.

Through collaboration we discover ways to learn, lean, and listen to the stories of others who experience food through memory, history, and conversation in order to break industry molds and help shape the direction of community impact. Our intention with food and style is to cross boundaries, cultures, languages, and time.

Our goal with food-sharing is to bring folks together to learn, to celebrate and to uplift one another. TXA TXA uses food to story-tell with our guests, our co-hosts, our clients, and our partners, inviting them to be a part of the process, the inspiration, the conversation, and the menu making. Each dinner we make is unique, and that’s because you are, too.

TXA TXA Club began in the backyard of Liz Bendure and Daniel Parker—longtime Lula Cafe-ers—in the summer of 2021 as covid restrictions began to lift, a time when friends, family, and strangers craved meaningful connection. This project called Supper Club began as an extension of their personal art practice as well as 20+ years in hospitality. The first month brought 9 guests into their vine-covered courtyard on Albany Ave. 9 friends turned into 15, turned into 25, turned into sold out dinners and invitations from outside non-traditional venues to bring a sense of playful interaction and intention to explore what it means to share a meal with folks who may have never met otherwise.

TXA TXA is about community. It’s about exploring. Its message and food aim to be playful and artistic, but also to finding inspiration through the everyday, through others, and through innovation.

our story

TXA TXA Club began in the summer of 2021 in our backyard at a time when friends, family, and strangers craved meaningful connection more than ever. The project, simply titled Supper Club, began as an extension of our personal art practice married with our 20+ years in hospitality. The first month brought 9 guests into our vine-covered courtyard on Albany Avenue. 9 friends turned into 15, then 25, which quickly turned into sold out dinners and invitations from unique venues asking for opportunities to share our process. Our intention became clear: bringing people together who would never meet otherwise over shared meals that are playful and purposeful.

TXA TXA is about exploring the dance that happens between food, art, and people. We find inspiration through the everyday, through the stories we share with one another, and breaking through the conventional.
