TXA TXA Club is a creative culinary studio, catering company, and cafe based in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, IL.

Our team of artists, chefs, stylists, and food activists are dedicated to making and sharing beautiful food through thoughtful event productions, bespoke catering, and our monthly supper club. We take a unique approach to menu-making, food styling, and tablescaping for experiences ranging from intimate dinners for 20 to large corporate galas and weddings of 200. At the heart of it all, we’re guided by the desire to redefine the hospitality and contemporary dining scene in Chicago by collaborating with artists and building up our local community.

our story

TXA TXA Club began in the summer of 2021 in our backyard at a time when friends, family, and strangers craved meaningful connection more than ever. The project, simply titled Supper Club, began as an extension of our personal art practice married with our 20+ years in hospitality. The first month brought 9 guests into our vine-covered courtyard on Albany Avenue. 9 friends turned into 15, then 25, which quickly turned into sold out dinners and invitations from unique venues asking for opportunities to share our process. Our intention became clear: bringing people together who would never meet otherwise over shared meals that are playful and purposeful.

TXA TXA is about exploring the dance that happens between food, art, and people. We find inspiration through the everyday, through the stories we share with one another, and breaking through the conventional.

FAQ’s

  • TXA TXA comes from the Basque word txoko. It literally means cozy corner. txoko is a society or club that comes together to cook, to celebrate, to be a convivial collective. But more than what it means, it represents a sense of time or past time. A way of dining representative of a way of life. When we started TXA TXA, that’s what we wanted our dinners to feel like: dancing somewhere between Barcelona at noon and Bangkok at midnight. Transported across boundaries, culture, and era. And most importantly, across the table.

  • Supper Club is a collaborative dinner series that always takes place on the last Friday of every month in a new location (typically a food-or artist-adjacent small business), consisting of 35-50 seats. We communicate the space or host’s story through a welcome cocktail and 5-course menu in the hopes of fostering community with one another.

Vis-à-vis is a smaller, more intimate series—usually hosted mid-month and mid-week—that features a local artist, maker, grower, or chef. This series (just 18 seats!) is held at our cozy studio in Logan Square. The menu will speak to the artist's body of work and allows for each guest to really get to know their products, pieces, or practice throughout the dinner.

Both of these series are meant to approach food and hosting through the lens of TXA TXA: all things convivial, funky, and fun. We tend to lean heavily towards Southern American classics or Southeast Asian flavors with Mediterranean styles. We like to try new things but stay approachable and stray away from being fussy or fancy. Instead, we’d like to think we make the artistic accessible. Ultimately, our food is more about a feeling rather than a specific ingredient or kind of food.

  • All of our Supper Club and Vis-à-vis dinners come with a welcome cocktail (including an n/a option). Nearly all of our dinners are BYOB. There is the occasional venue that doesn’t allow outside booze; in those cases, there will be drinks available for purchase. These details will always be communicated on our ticket pages and in the preliminary email that we send out two days prior to the event.

  • We’re always happy to accommodate dietary restrictions as best as we can and ensure your safety when it comes to allergens. If you are purchasing seats for a dinner we have a drop down menu of meal options (vegetarian, pescatarian, or standard) and provide a guest notes section to communicate any allergies you or a guest may have.

When you arrive for the event, staff will check in with you about your menu choice and/or allergies and give you a pink place card. This lets the support staff know about your modifications. We strive to make sure everyone feels safe and included!
